Are army nurses ever involved in combat?
I'm starting down the nursing pathway with an Access course this year aiming to go onto a nursing degree next year. I would apply to become an army student nurse however I'm transgender, currently transitioning and I would like to complete my basic training as my real self. I'm curious about whether in the role of army nurse you ever find yourself in a combat situation like CMTs do?

Additional skills development
As I have been browsing several army roles I noticed that you are able to gain different skills with different roles. As I am considering a role of an Armourer I would like to know whether I would be able to gain different skills such as parachuting or HGV license for example. I would like to use maximum of the potential I am being given hence I would like to know whether it is a possibility.

Hi. What's the difference between GDMO in RN, Army, RAF? What surgical specialties are offered in each? Thank you.
Hi.
I'm currently a medical student - just finished Year 2 - and I'm looking at applying for a medical cadetship. I was wondering if you could tell me what the difference is between GDMO time in the Army, RN and RAF. I'm trying to decide which to apply to. My aim is to do something surgical (perhaps trauma surgery), so I was hoping you could tell me the different surgical specialties that the Army offers (and RN and RAF if you know).
I know that you didn't join via the cadetship programme, but I was wondering if you could tell me whether, if I were successful in my application; would I then have to join the UOTC? - just thinking about fitting in other commitments, etc.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Joe

Best way to join UKSF as a Signal? (More questions as well)
1. What is the best set of university qualifications to get if I want to become a Royal Signals Officer? (I don't mind what it is, but ideally I want to do very technical stuff. If I had preference; operating and installing radio equipment and telecommunications systems. I know this is just one small area of work that the RS do, but if I had any specific preference, this is what I would pick.)
2. I want to be in the UKSF. Specifically, UKSF -> 18 (UKSF) Signal Regiment -> 267 (SRR) Signal Squadron. I think you get what I mean, but I want to work with the SRR as a Royal Signals Officer. Whats the best way I would go about this?
Please respond with as much detail as possible, this will be really important information to me. I specifically picked you (Frank R) because I noticed your one of the only RS on the site.
Thanks :)

A career in the AAC.
Hello. I was amazed by your story. I am currently off to university but am also truly in love with the military. My goal has always been to become a pilot. I was originally planning to go through the commercial route but it seemed boring, unentertaining and it was extremely costly for somebody starting out. The military was something I was passionate about. I loved the airshows and military parades that would take place. Anyway, becuase I couldnt get my ATPL, I decided to go university. Despite this I do hope to become a pilot for the British Army after. I want to have something to fall back on incase. Anyway, enough of that I wanted to ask a few questions. Firstly, I understand I must complete amplitude, medical and other tests in order to be selected for the pilot position. Are these tests very difficult? I was told by somebody that out of lets say 50 people only 2 would suceed onto the next round? In addition to this, can I apply directly to become a pilot or would I have to join the AAC as another role (believe its called NCO although I have no idea) and would I then have to be promoted to become a pilot? Is there other oppotunities for me to complete the test (if I dont do well)?. Can I have glasses when flying for the british army? (My number is around -1.75 both sides) If I dont get into the AAC, can I join the RAF and Royal Navy? How difficult is the whole process? (I know this is a generic question, im just curuious based on your own experience). I hope these questions werent too annoying as im sure you get them alot. I understand that the pilot role is by far one of the most popular roles in the military and it is one of the most difficult. Thanks for reading this. Kind Regards
