How long does a normal infantry deployment last for?

I am looking into becoming a infantry soldier just like my older brother was.

    Thanks for your question

The time spent away will depend on your role whilst on deployment along with The location and whether your on an overseas exercise or operational tour.

As a rule of thumb, an operational tour is generally anywhere between 4-7 months with a period of leave before, during and post operation.

An overseas exercise again depends on the same factors however they are generally in between 6-12 weeks. For example, an exercise to the jungle is 6-7 weeks and an exercise to the Falkland Islands is 12 weeks.

What regiment/role are you looking to do in the infantry?
