Hello. If you are successful throughout the application process and despite the long waiting list then yeah you would get a place as a dog handler. Thanks. If you have any other question let me know.
Since theres a long waiting list, what happens during the waiting time?
Hi there,
Before moving into my current role, I spent five years as the Lead Recruiter in the Nottingham office, helping individuals like yourself navigate their application journey. Let me see if I can provide some more clarity on this for you.
Do you currently have an application in to join? If so, where are you in the application process?
I havent started one, just wanted to know a few things before applying in the future
No problem at all. As you can imagine, the role of Dog Handler is one of the most popular positions within the British Army, as many people are eager to work with military dogs. Consequently, the waiting list for this role can be quite long.
When you submit your application, you can express your interest in becoming a Dog Handler. However, you should also select two other job roles that interest you. It's always a good idea to keep your options open when it comes to job choices. This way, you increase your chances of securing a position that aligns with your skills and interests, even if your first choice has a long waiting list.
Remember, the Army offers a wide range of exciting and rewarding career opportunities, so exploring different roles can be beneficial. If you're determined to pursue the Dog Handler role exclusively, that's perfectly fine. During the waiting period, you'll be kept informed about available spaces and any updates. However, it's important to maintain your fitness levels in the meantime to ensure you're ready when the opportunity arises.
