Thank you for your question and interest in becoming a Junior Soldier. All soldiers joining the Army will need to pass a fitness test, which includes a beep test, medicine ball throw and a mid thigh pull. There are different requirements to hit depending on your role.
Once you apply you will be invited into your local Army Careers Centre for an Army Brief and Individual Careers Discussion, this is where you will discuss what role you would like to do and find out how to prepare for assessment centre. The recruiter cannot give you a routine to follow (please seek advice from a personal trainer if you require this) but will be able to point you in the right direction, it's important to do what you enjoy and practice what you need to pass assessment.
Just remember people join the Army with different levels of fitness, part of basic training is to build your fitness gradually.
I've been to visit the campus at Harrogate, it is incredible, you will have access to a swimming pool, running tracks, mountain bike tracks, state-of-the-art gym, football pitches and much more.
Good luck with your application 😀
thank you for your reply. i am currently having issues in the medical aspect of applying, so im not sure i will be able to sort it out before the deadline
