1) as a MP can you transfer into a home office police force with more ease then without being an apart of the RMP? 2) How easy is it to transfer from a combat role (Ra) to the RMP? 3) what's the timeline for both above questions. (In months/years) Thanks!

    Good morning Zak,

Being in the RMP can be beneficial when applying to a Home Office police force, as you’ll already have an understanding of legislation, police powers, and investigative skills. However, you would still need to go through the standard Home Office police application process. To my knowledge, there isn’t currently a direct transfer route from the RMP to a Home Office force, but we do offer attachments to certain constabularies.

Transferring from a combat role to the RMP requires chain of command approval, meeting eligibility criteria, passing additional police vetting checks, and completing RMP training. As this process is case by case, I can’t provide a specific timeframe.

    Kind regards,

    Kyle
