Is there any programmes or anything before basic that can help those who feel not ready yet for their fitness test

Anonymous asked a question to Claire W.

I would like to join as infantry but I feel like I need to work on my fitness more before joining, are there any things set up to support with this or is it just, get ready for it in ur own time and apply when you're ready. And if you fail, are you able to reapply/retry

    Claire W. Recruiter

Hello, thank you for your question.

Firstly, I totally understand your concerns but do you not worry, everyone has these doubts when thinking about joining. You are not expected to turn up and be an athlete, basic training is set up to help grow your fitness gradually. There are requirements to pass at Assessment Centre, once you apply your recruiter will talk you through these and explain what is required for your job role. Then it is up to you to work towards these goals, but once you get a place in basic training you will be working on your fitness with everyone else 😀

We won't book you to Assessment Centre until you can confidently hit the requirements for your role, the application process can take a while so my advice would be to get started now so you know what you are working towards! If you didn't pass first time you can return to Assessment Centre again to retake the fitness test.

    Good luck with your application
