Jefferson N. asked a question to Amie P.
Each job role has a specific cognitive test score requirement. For the Royal Logistics Corps, a 44 GTI score qualifies you for roles such as Port Operator, Driver, Postal Courier, Logistics Supply Specialist, Air Dispatcher, and Chef. Additionally, you must have the necessary GCSEs (if required) and pass the fitness tests for the Royal Logistics Corps.
Your recruiter can provide a list of job roles you qualify for based on your assessment centre results. It's a good idea to ask them for this list to explore your available options.
Hi Jefferson,
Before moving into my current role, I spent five years as the Lead Recruiter in the Nottingham office, helping individuals like yourself navigate their application journey. Let me see if I can assist you with this.
During the application process, you'll complete a practice test before your Army Brief and Interview. The actual test is then taken at the assessment centre. Where are you currently in the application process?
Currently I am done with my assessment and gone through the interview process but the job role I was given to has been occupied. So with my score on the cognitive test (44) can I join the Royal Logistic Corp?
Thank you so much I hold a Bachelor's degree would that be a good option to the GCSE?
Congratulations on earning your Bachelor's degree! However, if you are joining as a soldier, the requirement you need to meet is having GCSEs.
Alright, that is fine I have a GCSE.
What is the pass mark for the Literacy and Numeracy test?
You'll need to complete the Functional Skills Initial Assessments to determine your literacy and numeracy levels. Regular candidates must achieve at least Entry Level 2. Additionally, you'll need to pass the English Speaking and Listening Test at Level 1 or higher. These tests are conducted at the Assessment Centre (AC), and your results will be valid for 24 months from the date you pass.
Thank you so much for your time.
You're very welcome, good luck with your application.
I had a Level 1 in numeracy and Entry Level 3 in Literacy do I meet the required score?
Hi Jefferson,
I'd like to refer you back to Amie's Response.
"Regular candidates must achieve at least Entry Level 2. Additionally, you'll need to pass the English Speaking and Listening Test at Level 1 or higher. These tests are conducted at the Assessment Centre (AC), and your results will be valid for 24 months from the date you pass".
Improve your scores, research what you'd like to do and in turn, enhance your understanding of the Army. If you are unsure of the understanding then I'd suggest enhancing you English Language skills to align to Amie's response.
Happy to assist where possible. but I'm sure you can appreciate, Communication in the British Army must be clearly understood or it could have the potential for serious consequences. There are a multitude of courses to assist you with this.
I wish you the best of luck.
