Applying to the Army Foundation College (AFC) Harrogate is a great step if you're looking to start your military career at a young age. To apply, you need to be between 16 and 17 years and 5 months old when you start the course. Begin your application online through the British Army's official recruitment website. After submitting your application, you'll be invited to your nearest Army Career Centre for an initial briefing and to discuss your options. If your application is successful, you'll be invited to an Assessment Centre where you'll undergo medical and fitness tests, as well as interviews. Since you're under 18, you'll need parental consent to join.
At AFC Harrogate, you'll undergo either the Junior Entry Long Course (48 weeks) or the Junior Entry Short Course (23 weeks), depending on the role you're aiming for in the Army. The training includes military skills, fitness training, education (improving English, Maths, and computer skills), and personal development. AFC Harrogate offers excellent facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, climbing wall, and sports pitches. You'll receive a monthly salary starting at around £1500, which increases after six months.

You can apply anytime throughout the year. There are 2 intakes for Harrogate per year. 1 in September, the other is in March.
