Would I be placed abroad if I am doing an apprenticeship? My partner is disabled and I don’t want to be away from them

I like the idea of the army and I have experience in nursing from university. I want to help others and I also love animals so the apprenticeship appeals to me. I just don’t want to be away from home or far from home for years at a time or even months at a time

There is a possibility that you could end up abroad but for operational reasons. Postings are usually optional if you want to be posted abroad or not. Most nurses are stationed in the UK. So although time at home cant always be guaranteed the distance away cant be guaranteed either. Although effort is made try try to accommodate as best as we can. If you are married or in a long term relationship of 5+ years you could be eligible for a quarter either in the UK or abroad wherever you are posted. This would be for postings only depending on availability and would exclude operational deployments.

More information about this you would be better talking to your local Army Careers office about any concerns in relation to accommodation and postings and they will be able to give you more in depth answers to your needs.
