Would I be able to stay where I’m being trained if it’s far from where I am currently living or would I have to travel?

How long would I be able to see my family for each year ?

    Hi Alisha,

You'll be given accommodation wherever you go in the Army.
How often you see your family each year will largely depend on your personal circumstances and preferences.
Your weekends are normally your own time* and you'll get 30 days paid leave, plus bank holidays, plus Post Operational Tour Leave if you deploy on Operations.
If you're married or in a long term relationship you can live in family accommodation, so you'd see your family every day*.

*(unless you're on Basic Training, duty, Exercise, or Operations)

As a personal example, I usually visit my hometown about once a month. I could go most weekends if I wanted to, but its a five hour round journey so I don't always want to drive.

I hope that helps to answer your question.
