Would being a dog handler include having to find land mines in active war grounds?

Hello. Military dogs wouldn't be used to find landmines and you wouldn't be expected to be wandering through minefields with the dog. High assurance dogs are loosed in certain situations to cover a larger areas in search of explosive devices and ammunition. But you wouldn't be putting yourself in a position more dangerous than you had to and you would not be expected to disarm devices. Thanks. If you have any other questions please let me know.
