Would an officer from a combat unit be able to transfer to ALS if they had the necessary qualifications?

Hi, if an individual had the necessary qualifications (had sat the barr and also the required time spent practising law) there would be no reason that an individual couldn't transfer. Like any transfer it would also depend on a number of factors including whether there was space in the ALS in the year that you were looking to transfer. Hope this helps.
