Hey! Thanks for your question.
It’s not really a case of specialising in certain areas, some jobs are rank based. For example regimental account is usually Sgt but Cpls can stand in. Financial Systems Administrators are SSgts but again can be rank ranged between Sgt-WO2 depending on what unit you are attached to. I took over the role of a Personal Assistant to a 3* (Vice Admiral) back in May 24 and I’m a SSgt. There are PA jobs out there for lesser ranks I.e Lt Cols, Cols who do have PA’s at the rank of Cpl/Sgt.
Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for the response, so can you be promoted to corporal, sergeant etc by doing the role of a HR Specialist? What would the best route be to potentially have the opportunity of being a PA? Also is there sport opportunities with the HR specialist role?
Hi, thanks for your question.
So you won’t be promoted based on the role of HR Specialist. As soon as you finish Phase 2 (Trade Training) you will then receive a SJAR (Soldier Joint Annual Report) every year and as long as you get good recommendations and a good grade, you will get promoted and then move roles i.e Jnr Sqn /Coy Clerk(Pte-Cpl), Snr Sqn/Coy Clerk (Cpl-Sgt), Regimental Accountant (Sgt), Financial Systems Administrator (SSgt-WO2). Sports wise, there is absolutely alsorts to do! From football, rugby, horse riding, skydiving.
Hope this helps, get in touch if you have any other questions
