With a history of suicide attempt and self harm because of one particular event I've dealt with stop me from joining?

I was SA'd when I was 15 and didn't know how to cope the attempt was a cry for help and ive had therapy and know how to cope with things now in a healthy way. I feel 100% now, mentally healthy and have had no issues at all. Does having this past stop me all together from being able to join?

It may not ban you altogether but you may be required to provide more evidence during your medical to support the fact you are now well. The final decision will always be with the medical board and they may look at how many years have lapsed in between as there is often a time frame for certain conditions.
