I have POTS (a form of dysautonomia, affecting blood pressure and heart rate) and EDS (which causes joint pain and fatigue). I'm also autistic. Can I still join as a medic? Is the Army supportive to those with disabilities? I would likely pass the 2km run etc on a good day with training.
Blood pressure, joint pain and autism are all factors in being able to join. Just because you have issues with these might not necessarily mean you cant join. However the medical team will look at all of this in detail and make a final decision based on what they find. If you are interested in joining please fill out the application form online, there are some initial screening questions that may help point you in the right direction.
