Every soldier who joins the Royal Engineers (RE) or Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) will be enrolled on an apprenticeship program suitable for their trade. For example a person who joins the REME as a recovery mechanic (their trade) would complete a Lv3 apprenticeship in Engineering Tech support.
You have to join the army to do an apprenticeship within it.
If you are 16yrs - 17.3yrs you may wish to look at the Army Foundation College Harrogate.
