Which branched of the armed forces could my son realistically get in with rd/grn col deficiency?

    Thanks for the question, the obvious job that would not be able to take colour blind soldiers would be EOD bomb disposal roles. However the best thing for your son to do would be to head into your local careers office and have a chat with the staff, they will be happy to talk through his options and find a job that suits him and his interests.


    If this is not possible for you then my advice would be to look through the roles with him on the role finder, find a role that interests him and apply. If the colour blindness becomes a problem for the role at the army medical stage then he will be able to change to a different role and continue his application either way.


    In terms of medical standards for entry should he have any other issues of concern, please see bellow.
