Yes there’s a leave (holiday) period before going to your battalion

Hi Jessica, yes you would get some leave after basic training and your phase 2 training.

Once you are at barracks, you tend do have weekends off so going home is a lot easier.

If your family live near to where you are posted, you can usually see them in the evenings too after work.
