When you pass out as a guardsman, do you go and do straight to gaurding Palaces or can you go straight into a battalion?

    Thank you for your question

The answer depends on the battalion you are joining.

The grenadier guards, Scots guards and Coldstream guards all have incremental companies.

If you are joining one of these regiments there is a good change you will go to the ceremonial company with the relevant regiment.

The welsh and Irish guards don’t have an incremental meaning you will pass out and go straight to the battalion where you will carry out general duties.

Are you currently in the process or thinking about joining?

Hope this has answered to it question

Hi James, thanks for getting back to me.

And I'm currently waiting on a new date to go to the AC due to it getting canceled previously...

Can anyone join the Welsh guards? Like from anywhere is is it mainly Welshmen that join?

Anyone can join mate. A lot of people tend to join a specific regiment due to its location.

The welsh guards have just been based at Windsor, 30 minutes from London.
