    Hi Ahmad,

When you join Sandhurst, your will earn £31,305 a year with it rising to £37,425 on commissioning. Both your food and accommodation are subsidised throughout your career with you rent depending on the size/standard of your room. As a junior officer, the most you will pay is around £190 a month and this is irrespective of where you are located. In addition, you pay a small amount towards council tax but no gas or electric. If you chose to eat three meals a day in the mess, the basic charge is £5.61 at present.

This is a very detailed response thank you - my addon to this would be how much you pay in rent/living expenses during basic training/when you first start. I know this is around 14 weeks?

Your time at Sandhurst is 44 weeks in total and Soldier basic training is 14 weeks at present. The accommodation costs for soldiers are slightly less but again linked to size/standard of room. All of these costs are not upfront and come out of your monthly pay in arrears.

One last question on that note, what is the cheapest standard of room I can get/approx monthly cost- sorry to be a pain.
