Hi Jaden,
Thanks for you question.
Normally you will be required to complete a 2km (1.2 mile) run, after an 800m (0.5 mile) warm up jog for between 6 min 30 sec and 7 min. You must run 2km in 10 min and 15 secs or faster to meet the infantry soldier entry standard.
The run has temporarily been replaced with a Multistage Fitness Test (MSFT) or âbeep testâ during COVID-19. This ensures better social distancing can be maintained.
You need to run between two lines, 20m apart, in time with a beep. The beeps get steadily faster. Your score is based on the point where you can no longer keep up. The current standard for the infantry is MSFT (beep test) level 8.06.
The run measures your aerobic capacity. Aerobic fitness is essential for all military tasks, and important for injury prevention. Here are some ways you can prepare:
Regularly run 2km
Jump Squats
Alternate Squat Thrusts
Burpees
I hope this answers your question but if you want to know more please come back to me.
