Hi, great question. Your room in basic training will usually be a shared room with your own separate bed spaces for 4-6 people. Males and females are in separate rooms (in different corridors / floors). You can make your area your own with things from home. You can bring your own bedding too. When you're in Phase 2 training (ie after basic training) you will have your own room, some places still have a shared bathroom but other places you have an ensuite. If you go through officer training you might only share with 1 other person but you will still have shared bathrooms. Once you are out of Phase 1 training you can do what you want to your room - you might still have the occasional room inspection (more in Phase 2) but as long as it's tidy you can do what you like. Once you get out of training your room really is your own - many people have a set up with some sort of X-box/playstation area and a comfy chair, mini fridge etc. It's your space - do what you like! Hope that helps.
