An aviation technician will normally leave the training school as a LCpl Technician Under Training (UT). After a period of consolidation and equipment training at their first unit, they must pass an assessment of competency
carried out by a level J authorised Aircraft Engineering Officer. If successful, they are to be qualified and authorised as a technician. Your supervisors course should be around the 5 year point along with promotion to Corporal over the 5-8 year period. Subsequent military and personal training courses should see Senior Supervisor and the promotion period for Sgt starting around the 8 year period. Depending on the individual there is the possibility of selection for Artificer training. This is a very generic broad brush career model and individual circumstances will dictate how successful an individual will be.
