Hannah Z. asked a question to Tori C.
Hi Hannah,
I enjoyed speciality training with the Army - I did general practice. There are limited choices in regards to specialty, but your options for location then vary depending on what specialty you picked. Some have more flexibility than others eg GPs usually do their hospital jobs in a JHG, but secondary care trainees often do their training elsewhere.
If specialising in GP, currently you may have to move around (I worked in Surrey, Wiltshire, Loughborough, Devon and Cornwall during my training, but that is probably a bit more than the norm!)
My colleagues in secondary care have tended to stay inside one deanery area for training, but some have moved.
Foundation years are done in a JHG, you are able to submit a preference for which one, but it's not always possible to give everyone their first choice.
I hope that helps answer your question.
