I understand the basic instructions on the fitness tests, but I would like some more clarification on how to do them, more so the Medicine Ball Throw and Mid Thigh Pull. Example- is the Medicine Ball Throw fully seated, or do you stand as you throw?
The score required is job specific and will be listed on the Army jobs site as to what score it is you need to meet for the required standard.
The Bleep test is 20M and not 15 which some people often get caught out on so please ensure that you are practising for the right one if you are cleared to do so.
The medicine ball throw is a 4KG medicine ball which is seated on the floor, legs are required to be together out in front of you and you back must remain fully against the wall during the throw or it will be a no score. This test is just to use the arms and throw the required distance.
The mid thigh pull is done on a machine using pressure plates during selection and moves onto a Hexibar once competed training the pull machine you are to meet the required weight by trying to lift the bar similar to the way you do a dead lift there are various videos that can be found that helps to explain these test.
What is the fitness training app called? Is it the one that requires a subscription for more tests, called British Army Cognitive Test?
The British Army withdrew their fitness app a while ago. I have heard of the one you have mentioned and know that they do have the test on them but please ensure that you are fully fit and have passed the medical before attempting. The application process will tell you what the test involve pretty early on as part of your initial brief and many careers offices offer fitness through MPCT if they are able to do so.
