What sort of 1.5 mile best effort times should you be hitting in order to be considered for the Parachute Regiment?

    Hi Liam,

We don't assess you on the 1.5 mile run anymore, its 1.2 miles/2km.

For the Parachute Regiment you will have to run the 1.2 mile in under 8:15.

Thanks Gabriella! As an Officer, i'm guessing you would be expected to be considerably under the 8.15?

On a separate point - is the 2km run doing during assessment with all other recruits?

We don't offer the Parachute Regiment under the Officer Route - it would be Regular Soldier only.

Usually, yes. You complete the 2km run with the other candidates.

Ah okay - so how do you become a Commissioned Officer in the Paras?

    Hi Liam,

I'm not too sure on the answer to your question, but if you go to the link below, the email for the recruiting team is at the bottom of the page and they should be able to give you a bit more information.
