I do not have A levels or a university education and would like to know if I would still be considered or if its best I look at other roles (although I have several in mind) and of course what the process for a role like this would involve?
Hi. Great question, and one we get quite a lot. The minimum entrance requirement to join the Intelligence Corps as a soldier is 5 GCSEs A-C (or 9-4) including English and Maths (or Numeracy equivalent). Many of our soldiers also have A levels and have been to University, but by no means all of them.
We're a Corps that believe in giving our people the opportunity to improve themselves and learn throughout their career. If you meet the standard at your Army Assessment, you will have the opportunity to apply for Intelligence Corps Specialist Selection. This takes place over three days and tests your briefing; teamwork; intellectual flexibility; written skills; current affairs understanding; and analytical potential. If successful, you will be offered a place in the Intelligence Corps.
From there, you'll complete your initial military training and come to us for specialist intelligence training. That course will give you all the skills you need to begin an exciting career as an Intelligence Analyst.
