what should i go on to do after year 11 to give me the best chance of becoming a combat medic?

would it be better to go straight into the army or should i do A-levels first?

    Hi Myla,

Good question, but not one that has an easy answer!

I usually advise people to have a chat with their local recruiting office if they are unsure whether or not now is a good time to apply. To apply as a CMT you will need to be at least 16yrs 6m and have the correct GCSEs.

The course for becoming a CMT can be quite academic, so you may find it helpful to have done A-levels. Sometimes people do better during the application process if they are a bit older and have more qualifications and a little bit more life experience, but this is often down to the individual.

Best of luck with deciding what to do.
