What’s the process to become an engineer in the army? Are there specific training or education requirements?

    Hello Isabella,

There are lots of Engineering roles in the Army, you can find them all here: Explore Engineering Roles with the British Army | Army Jobs

Each role has its own education requirements that can be found on the individual role pages under 'Entry Requirements'. For example, to join as a Vehicle Mechanic, you need GCSE Grade A*-C/9-4, or Scottish National 5 (A-C), in English, Science and Maths.

Everyone who joins the Army first goes through Basic Training. This is where you'll train to become a soldier by learning skills like fieldcraft, navigation, and the law of armed conflict.

After that, as someone joining an Engineering role, you'll go to Initial Trade Training to learn your trade.

Hopefully that helps, feel welcome to ask any follow-up questions in the comments.
