    Hello Leo,

The multi-stage fitness test refers to the beep test. The level you need to achieve depends on what role you're applying for. So, for Infantry Soldier, you need to achieve level 8.06. You can find the levels required for each role on the Army Jobs website.

Thank you. What about the other fitness tests?

For now, you only need to focus on what is shown on the Army Jobs page: if you can pass those standards comfortably then you'll have good foundation level fitness to develop on in Basic Training.

For awareness, we currently do 2 different fitness tests once you've finished Basic Training:

    • The Soldier Conditioning Review (SCR) is done at least once every 6 months and consists of: Medicine ball throw, broad jump, pull ups, dead lift, shuttle sprints, and a 2km run.
    • The Role Fitness Test (Soldier) (RFT(S)) is done at least once every 12 months and consists of: Loaded march, tactical movement, casualty drag, stretcher carry, vertical lift, repeated lift and carry, and incremental lift.

It's worth noting that these tests sometimes change so they may not be the same by the time you join. For example, the SCR is due to be updated this year and is supposedly going to be a 2km aerobic run, dead lift, press ups, and pull ups.
