What's the difference between the Army scholarship and the medical bursary? What's your experience of each of these?

    Hi there,

The Army Scholarship is for those in sixth form at present and is for those who are in Year 12 to apply for. Success at the Scholarship board gives them £3000 and a guaranteed spot on the standard bursary. This can then be upgraded to a medical bursary or the medical bursary can be applied for separately for those who are not scholars. The medical bursary is linked entirely to the study towards a medical degree.

I was an Army Scholar and it gave me the security of a role in the Army at an early stage which was ultimately what I wanted to achieve. The bursaries are also a fantastic opportunity to both support future officers financially but also to give them security in their studies so they can fulfil all that they want to achieve whilst at university.
