Im planning in going to university then joining as an officer
Hi Baran.
Good question. When I went to University I decided to join the OTC and have no regrets, but there are benefits to both OTC and other types of Reserve service.
OTCs will give you more exposure to leadership theory and officership, while likely also having a larger and more student focused social life.
Regimental reserve service will likely give you more exposure to the Regular army, real capabilities, and practical leadership. It will also of course give you a lot more exposure to a particular Regiment within the Army.
Ultimately, I'd get to Uni and speak to both your local reserve units and your OTC. Go on a visit or familiarisation day and make a decision based on the opportunities on offer and where you feel most comfortable.
I hope that helps?
