Hi Emily,
Whilst I'm not a CMT, I've worked with many of them over the years in a whole host of countries.
They are trained to a high standard and train alongside NHS staff in hospitals. Whilst in Afghanistan, the hospital in Camp Bastion was ranked as world class due and the safest place to be for their patients due to the high standard of training and equipment available to them.
CMT's are able to be attached to any unit, anywhere in the world, which makes them a great choice for travel should that be a desire.
