What is the work-life balance like for an infantry officer? How often are they deployed and/or sent away from home?

    Good morning,

Thanks for your question. This would vary widely dependent on which unit you ultimately assigned to.

Whilst we haven't had active Combat missions for several years, we are always training for such an event as a deterrent. Which could lead to deployments all around the world in both extreme hot and cold climates to produce the best soldiers for the job.

Flexible working could be a possibility in each unit, again dependent of their ongoing commitment.

However, training exercises aren't the only current day to day expectation. Dependent on which Battalion you could find yourself assisting in humanitarian relief after a natural disaster or anti poaching. When i say the possibilities are limitless, they really are. Which is one many benefits of a career as such.
