After attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, you’d attend PCBC (Platoon Commanders Battle Course) in Brecon, Wales. The course lasts for 3 months and builds on the skills you learn at Sandhurst developing a better understanding of the quick planning processes and how to live and operate in the field. It is an arduous course that tests you physically and mentally but Sandhurst prepares you well for this. You will spend a lot of the time doing physical activity or exercising in the field where your ability to manage a small team whilst maintaining their and your own well-being. If you have ever done any hiking or something like Duke of Edinburgh award you can expect the exercises to involve walking over long distances and rough terrain carrying weight much like doing a big hike but with more weight.

It is not easy but seriously rewarding and gives a great sense of achievement.
