Hi Euan,
Thanks for your question. I am interpreting your question as being directed towards officer entry as opposed to soldier entry.
To become an Intelligence Officer within the Intelligence Corps you will need 72 UCAS points and 35 ALIS points at GCSE including a C/4 grade in English, maths and a science or foreign language.
The process is simple, go to apply.army.mod.uk/register and start your application. Once your application is received, you will be contacted by one of the recruitment team. All officer recruitment is carried out by our Senior Talent team.
The time it takes from application to starting at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst can vary greatly. It all depends on things like course start times, medical questionnaires, etc. Once you are at Sandhurst you will go through a 44 week training program where you will learn what is expected of a British Army Officer. This is all about leadership and is renowned for being one of the best leadership courses in the world.
Once you have finished at Sandhurst you will be an officer in the Intelligence Corps. From here, you will go onto a specialist course that will teach you how to lead soldiers in this specialist field.
Hopefully this answers your question, if not please let me know.
