I’m very interested in joining the army for nursing, but I’m debating between full enlisted or reserves. I want the chance to go abroad and the fitness that comes with being in the army as well as nursing opportunities. Is the pay better than nhs? Will I get a say in which part of the country I go?
You do have preferences as to where you want to work within regular service. With the reserves it would be up to you where you work.
Regular service will allow you to gain access to all of the military perks such as gym healthcare and free travel whilst the reserves you will only be paid for the time you commit to the service and would not be fully entitled to all of the perks although some expenses may be claimed back.
Nursing has different roles from primary healthcare and emergency care. The pay rates are the same for both which i believe match the NHS equivalent. More information about the job can be found on the link below telling you entry requirements and pay scale.

Please bare in mind that this is for a soldier role only officer pay for the same job role is different and different specialities may pay more. Mental health nursing being another route people can go down.
