Hi, the TA is joe called the Army Reserves. The details are: https://apply.army.mod.uk/what-we-offer/reserve-soldier
How much time you spend is really up to you - training is flexible and can fit around your life. Most roles will ask you to aim for 27 days a year - and your weekly training session at your unit will count towards this. If you join a specialist skills unit - it could be as little as 19 days a year.
Hi Andrew,
Where are you located?
The best thing you could do is locate your nearest reserve centre and book to go in for a chat.

Thanks for the comments. I am located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. What's the minimum amount of time someone could reach the rank of sergeant?
That question has a lot of factors.
How many days you commit per year, courses available, the reserve unit role and their forecast of events aswell as your motivation etc.
In a regular unit, this can be achieved in approx 10-12 years, faster in some other corps. I believe the reserve can be a bit slower due to the experience needed etc.
As said, there are a lot a variables to your question, it will benefit going to your local reserve unit for a chat. They will be the people to ask questions
Regards
