Do you also repair as much as them or just inspect them or oversee? How much will you be involved in fixing stuff?

Esi, As a REME officer you will not be trained in a trade. You will have the overall engineering authority and competence to provide engineering assurance to the chain of command. Your job will vary with rank, unit and position as you move up the ladder. Yes you can get involved with the hands on element in some respects but it will not be your daily routine, That will be the running of your section, platoon, LAD etc.
