Hi there, if you are interested in the Army but not necessarily a full career have you thought about joining the University Officer Training Corps. You will get a good look at what the Army does and experience multiple trades. Given that they work with students they will also be aware that your studies are also important and work alongside that.
When I was at Uni, the UOTC was a very social place and I found a lot of like-minded people there. I did some excellent adventurous training as well as develop key army skills that made becoming a regular easier at Sandhurst.
Should you wish to join the Army by a different route your minimum commitment would be 4 years.
