what is it like being a dag handler
Hello Ellie. Thank you for your question.
I am not a dog handler myself but I can see your question has not been answered yet so I will answer as best as I can.
As a dog handler in the Army, you will work with protection dogs to start with making sure that our Army bases are safe and secure. Later on there is the option to work with specialist dogs that are trained to detect explosives. You should have the opportunity to deploy on operations with your dog and throughout your career you will keep your dog trained to the highest standard and form a bond.
I have spoken with a few dog handlers in the Army and they claim to enjoy it. Many of them have travelled all around the world wherever they are required.

I hope this helps.
