Would just like to know what happens to your room and belongings and also what happens if you have your own car does it stay there or are you aloud to bring it with you when you get relocated if its in the UK, specifically in the House Hold Cavalry
Hi there Abby
When you go on exercise you lock your room and come back to it when you return. There might be a reason for people to go in while you are away such as maintenance etc but this done through the Quartermaster and someone is present. If you go on operations things can be different but this is dependant on the operation and how long you are away. When i went to Afghanistan i had to pack up my room into boxes while i was away, but when i went away to the Falklands i just left my room as it was.
If you get posted somewhere else for a significant period of time then you pack up your room usually put it in your car and unpack it at your new place because that is where you now live for the duration of that posting. Specifically to the Household Cavalry, you will move your stuff between London and Bulford when you are posted to each for any length of time, you will also take your car if you wish.
Hope this helps.
Okay thank you very much Robert, that was exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find an answer anywhere especially relating to the Household Cavalry as there isn't much info that i can find, once again thank you.
