What can I do better my chances of being selected as an AAC Pilot, through Sandhurst and the officer selection boards?

I am looking for advice to strengthen my chances of selection at Sandhurst during second term. I am looking to pursue aeronautical engineering, fit and have also studied AAC history, completing a 45 minute taster of the CBAT aptitude testing. Any advice and tips for selection is greatly appreciated!

There are a a number of things you could do to be as prepared as possible. Some of the obvious would to be in the best possible physical shape prior to arriving. The other is in keeping with your academic studies. keep your mind sharp in a way best suited to you. The one that perhaps you have given less thought to would be your training team. When at Sandhurst you will be trained be Soldiers and Officers with a wealth of experience so listen to them every step of the way.

Some things you may not fully understand as to why you are conducting in training but believe me, there's a method to the madness and it's all to best prepare you to lead in the eventually that you successfully complete training. Selection is no different. The more "focused all rounder" you are the better place you will find yourself.

If you are pursuing aeronautical engineering I'd imagine you have a sensible head on your shoulders anyway and are likely going to seize big opportunities whilst serving. Good luck with your initial selection process.
