The entry-level fitness requirements can be found on the Army Jobs website:

    Basic physical fitness assessment:

    • Mid Thigh Pull 50kg
    • Medicine Ball Throw 2.7m
    • MSFT (beep test) level 6.6

    Army Reserve standards

    • Mid Thigh Pull: 50kg
    • Medicine Ball Throw: 2m 70cm
    • MSFT (beep test): Level 5 shuttle 8

Passing these requirements demonstrates a foundation level physical fitness that can be worked on during training.

After training, fitness is really important: RLC Chefs can be attached to any British Army unit and are expected operate globally in a wide range of challenging environments.
