hi,when you at base the working hours are normal as 8 hours.we needs to do the weekend on rotation basis,but you get tome off in the following week.Its different when you on exercise some time you do long hours depends on the number of chef available,but latter or after you get your time off.Yes promotion is similar to any other trade in the army and its all on individuals performance.
