I'm not an engineer so I asked an expert, she replied as follows: The Armoured role is a physically demanding job role so you would need to work on your fitness and strength, but there are plenty of female Armoured Engineers so do not be put off by that. Your postings would be limited to the North (Yorkshire) or South (Tidworth) of the country as that is where the Armoured Regiments are. It is a busy job that will enable you to travel and deploy on many exciting operations and exercises. Make sure you look on the Royal Engineers Web site and research the job further so that you have a full understanding of it.
