i’m thinking about joining but i would just like to expand my knowledge first
Hey Donnie, thanks for your question. I suppose, from my perspective, it depends what you mean by scary?
Was I nervous when I started basic training for the Regular Army? Yeah, I think I was a bit. But I knew that everyone there with me would be going through the same thing and I made friends really quickly. It also helped that I have had previous Army Reserve experience which allowed me to find out about the army without having to make a full time commitment. It meant I knew more about what I was getting in to.
There is a lot of information about life in the Army available on their socials and website so hopefully any questions you have that might cause you some anxiety can be answered before you start.
In the end, despite some nervousness, my overwhelming feeling was one of excitement, and I'm glad I took those steps in to the career I'm now in.
Good luck with your journey.
Josh
