Unique situation about joining

Anonymous asked a question to Deegan W.

I was wondering if I could apply to join the British Army (I currently have the German and British nationality). My main issue with applying is being in Germany and having no personal insurance for leaving Germany and going to England and joining the British Army. The issue here is, for some case for the British Army not accepting me, I would be stuck in England without a possibility to move back to Germany. I have the British Nationality and being the age of 18. I've been born in Germany, but for my father being in the Army and which where he was stationed here in Germany I received over registration by the NATO (by birth) my British Nationality. I grew up within the British Army with my father and my mother and been taught to join the British Army when I grew up, since I was born this was my dream. An reply would be incredibly kind for my question.

    Hello
I see the issue with your situation and i can empathise. You have British citizenship which is great but to join the British Army you will require a UK address. You will not have to remain in the UK for the whole time you are applying but you will be required to attend in person to several events throughout the process. The British army will support you through the application process, pay for travel to events we require you to attend but only from a UK address. The British Army will not support you financially during your time in the UK. I hope this helps and gives you more understanding.

    Thanks and Good luck.
