Transfer from Infantry to Para during basic training?

Im starting basic training soon at AFC Harrogate. Can i transfer from infantry to paras because i originally didnt get a high enough beep test score for the parachute regiment. Thanks.

Hi, congratulations first and good luck for AFC(H). There may be a possibility but it would depend on structural vacancies within the paras. When you get to AFC(H) speak with your directing staff about it and make your wishes known. You might find when you are at AFC(H) you are happy with the decision to join the Regt you are joining and then might just choose to do P Company later on without actually joining the paras. There's certainly options but you will need to speak to your staff at Harrogate in the first instance.
