Staying Up to Date with News and Current Events
Hi, I'm interested in the Electrician- Royal Engineers role. I'm wondering how members of the army stay up to date with current events? I like to follow the news predominantly through: YouTube, the BBC news app, and Bluesky. Are these likely to be available to me in the army? Many thanks.

Hello Peter,
Soldiers stay up to date with current events, like yourself, through various platforms.
It's very likely that the platforms you mentioned will be available to you if you join the Army. We're be able to get WiFi and TV in our accommodation and through welfare services, so we're be able to keep up to date while serving.
If you're interested in British Armed Forces related content I recommend Forces News. There are also official Army accounts on mainstream social media platforms like X, Instagram, and Facebook.
